Foton Motor Debuts at the Paris Motor Show, Taking Another Step Toward "Systematic" Expansion in Europe

On October 12, the 2026 Paris Motor Show officially opened at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Foton Motor brought the CAVAN C1 pure-electric panel van and the eAUMARK pure-electric light truck to Hall 7.1, Stand A10, and used the show floor to announce its formal entry into the French market. Foton chose the Paris Motor Show as its debut stage for France out of a hard-headed read of the European commercial vehicle market: electrification in Europe is accelerating, and France is one of the countries where fleet renewal demand is most concentrated.

France is a major market for the global auto industry, with demanding requirements around environmental performance, technical standards and operating efficiency. Foton's entry rests on years of accumulated commercial vehicle engineering depth and a global operating system. To date, Foton has entered nearly 20 European markets and built a service network of more than 300 points, supported by a European technical centre and a parts centre in Bochum, Germany, giving customers localised technical support and after-sales assurance.

Founded in 1898, the Paris Motor Show is one of the world's oldest international motor shows and is held every two years, retaining a pivotal position in the European auto industry. Over the past two years, the electrification of commercial vehicles in Europe has clearly picked up speed. Many French cities have drawn low-emission zones and restrictions on diesel trucks entering urban areas have tightened steadily, so fleet operators' willingness to switch to electric vans and trucks keeps strengthening. For Foton, this is precisely the right moment to enter the French market.

The CAVAN C1 on display is built by CAVAN, Foton's new-energy brand, specifically for urban distribution duty. It offers a cargo box of up to 8.4 cubic metres and 320 km of WLTC range. The LFP battery carries an eight-year or 500,000 km warranty, fast charging takes it from 20% to 80% in 30 minutes, and L2+ driver assistance is fitted as standard.

Shown alongside it, the eAUMARK pure-electric light truck targets urban and regional delivery. It runs at 7.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight, carries a 100 kWh LFP battery pack for 180 km of WLTP range, and reaches a full charge in one hour of fast charging. The cab is fitted with an air-suspension seat and holds interior noise below 65 dB, while the i-ADAS suite covers automatic emergency braking and blind spot monitoring — a package shaped around high-frequency urban distribution cycles.

As the vendor that has held the No.1 spot in Chinese commercial vehicle sales for twenty-one consecutive years, Foton's products now reach more than 140 countries and regions worldwide, with cumulative deliveries exceeding 13 million units. In the first three quarters of 2026, Foton exported more than 168,000 complete vehicles, up 43.6% year on year, keeping it the number one Chinese commercial vehicle exporter by volume for fifteen straight years.

Foton's internationalisation is no longer just about sales growth. Its Brazilian plant has come on stream, making Foton the first Chinese commercial vehicle brand producing locally in Brazil; its Thai plant rolled off its 2,000th heavy truck; and its South African plant has begun CKD volume production of AMT heavy trucks and pickups. Globally, Foton has established 32 localised plants, with more than 1,200 overseas sales outlets and more than 1,500 service points. It is also promoting a multi-brand collaborative development model overseas, extending China's mature industrial ecosystem abroad and building an integrated "product + service + ecosystem" operating system that covers used-vehicle circulation, localised refuelling and charging, parts procurement, connected-vehicle operations and maintenance, and financial services. Under the plan, Foton will localise assembly in Europe in 2028, further completing its industrial footprint on the continent.

Foton Motor global expansion

Taking the Paris Motor Show as its starting point, Foton Motor will uphold the philosophy of "In Europe, For Europe," working hand in hand with partners to deliver higher-quality green logistics solutions to customers in France and across Europe, and to support the low-carbon transition of European urban logistics.
