On September 21, BAIC Foton and Weichai Power signed a specialized strategic cooperation agreement during the BAIC Group–Shandong Heavy Industry strategic signing ceremony held at the BAIC R&D base in Beijing. Under the deal, the two automakers will pursue all-round, in-depth cooperation in core component supply synergy, joint new-energy product R&D, and intelligent connected technology integration, aiming to break down barriers between complete-vehicle manufacturing and the core powertrain industry chain, strengthen product competitiveness, and deliver cost reduction and mutual gains. The signing marks both an upgrade of long-standing business ties and a forward-looking strategic layout to drive the high-end, intelligent and green development of the commercial vehicle industry.

On September 21, the strategic cooperation signing ceremony between BAIC Group and Shandong Heavy Industry Group was held at the BAIC R&D base. During the ceremony, BAIC Foton Motor Co., Ltd. ("BAIC Foton") and Weichai Power Co., Ltd. ("Weichai Power") signed a specialized strategic cooperation agreement.

From the Shandong Heavy Industry side, attendees included Wang Zhijian, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group; Ma Changhai, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group and Party Secretary and Chairman of Weichai Group; Wang Decheng, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of Weichai Group and Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of Weichai Power; and Li Pengcheng, Party Committee Member of Weichai Group and of Weichai Power and Deputy General Manager.

Under the agreement, BAIC Foton and Weichai Power will fully leverage their deep industrial foundations and core competitive advantages, focusing on key areas such as core component supply synergy, joint R&D of new-energy products, and the integration of intelligent connected technologies, to carry out all-round, in-depth and pragmatic cooperation. Through resource sharing, complementary strengths, joint technology development and market coordination, the two parties will continue to break down barriers between complete-vehicle manufacturing and the core powertrain industry chain, further enhance product competitiveness, and achieve cost reduction, efficiency gains and mutual benefit.
